The police have detained several journalists who were covering a protest staged at the Mehsul Stadium (Product Square) in Baku on Saturday, Turan Reports.

Turan correspondent is also among the detainees.

Radio Liberty correspondents Orkhan Rustamzade and Islam Shikhaliyev have also been detained. They were broadcasting live from the protest site.

The police pushed aside the protestors who tried to defend the journalists. The telephones of the detainees don’t answer.

The protestors are expressing their dissatisfaction with the ruling regime and demand to cancel the amendments to the constitution, which are to be put on referendum on September 26.
