A bill on the raising high-ranking officials’ salary has up to date been on the agenda of the Armenian Parliament, which means the issue may any moment appear on the plenary session’s agenda. One of the authors of the bill Artsvik Minasyan told NEWS.am that the bill has for over two years been on the small agenda, but there is hardly any hope it may be discussed in the near future.

He said that the Government and parliamentary majority do not show the necessary political will to wage a real struggle against corruption, which begins with setting high salary rates for high-ranking officials. “In other words, I do not see any possibility of the bill being discussed at a plenary session. I think the parliamentary majority will make use of it in its political shows,” Minasyan said.
