UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon urged Russia and the U.S. to resume negotiations on Syria, RIA Novosti reported.
He said that he saw news that the U.S. and Russia have suspended the dialogue. Ban Ki-moon said that he would go to Brussels for participation in a conference on Afghanistan within which would have an opportunity to meet the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and some high-level officials from Russia and also from the EU.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin suspended the contract with the U.S. on plutonium utilization. In turn, the spokesperson of the State Department, John Kirby stated that the U.S. suspended the use of “bilateral channels” with Russia created to maintain the cease-fire in Syria.
