The negotiations of the unification of Cyprus have started in Mont Pèlerin, Switzerland under the auspices of the United Nations. At the meeting, Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades and the head of the unrecognized Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Mustafa Akıncı will discuss territorial and other important issues, reports the DW. The UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon announced that the resolution of Cyprus unification will possibly be reached in 2016. According to him, the expected meeting will pave the way to the final stage of negotiations. According to him, the participants of the dialogue will seek to do everything possible to resolve that conflict. At the same time, Ban Ki-moon confessed, that a number sensitive and difficult issues have remained unresolved.
