Azerbaijan is not in the habit of keeping its word. The day Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents were signing an agreement on exchange of war prisoners and bodies of the killed, Azerbaijani armed forces were firing at Karabakh positions, commander of the Nagorno-Karabakh War, Colonel-General Arkadi Ter-Tadevosyan (Komandos) told a press conference on Wednesday.

“It suggests Azerbaijan will implement the agreement partially,” he said.

“Every day Azerbaijanis fire at Karabakh positions, whereas Armenian servicemen are ordered not to give a retaliatory fire. From the purely human point of view, we are right. Cruelty deserves cruel punishment, whereas we keep silence all the time.” Ter-Tadevosyan said.

Referring to the OSCE Summit in Astana on December 1-2, the General said he does not have great expectations about the Karabakh peace process. According to him, the Astana meeting will be traditional handshaking.

Arkadi Ter-Tadevisoyan also referred to possible signing of a “road map” on Karabakh at Astana Summit.

“The ‘road map” on Nagorno-Karabakh has been spoken about for 2 years. However, no conflicting party is satisfied with it. Those who draw road maps, aim at achieving progress, but fail to do so,” Komandos concluded.
