Istanbul police on Tuesday commenced a 3-hour special operation to ensure the peace and safety of residents.
All Istanbul police units are taking part in this special operation, during which all roads entering the city are closed, according to BirGün (One Day) newspaper of Turkey.
Vehicles entering and leaving Istanbul are being searched.
People are searched, too.
Police dogs also are used during this special operation.
