As OSCE Chairing country Lithuania intends to get the settlement process of protracted conflicts to progress, stated President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė.
“We see our domestic and external problems, we have global problems, ones of the 21st century. However, we can resolve out domestic problems, ones we have let grow big, such as protracted conflicts,” Grybauskaitė said at the OSCE Summit on December 2.
A number of states have shown how sensitive they are, the Lithuanian leader said. She believes the OSCE is capable of helping Moldova, Georgia, Nagorno-Karabakh make progress.
President Grybauskaitė promised that, as OSCE Chairing country, Lithuania will do its best to establish special contacts with the countries and listen to all the sides for the sake of progress.
Next year Lithuania is to take over OSCE Chairmanship from Kazakhstan.
