In 2010 Armenian weightlifters gained 78 medals at the world and European championships in different age groups, Samvel Khachatryan, President of the Armenian Weightlifting Federation and Deputy Sport Minister, told the journalists. He attached major importance to the victory of Tigran Martirosyan in Turkey.

The main challenge of the Armenian national team is London Olympics. At the moment Armenia will be represented by four sportsmen at the Olympics.

On December 6, all the teams will start trainings in the cities of Abovyan, Gyumri and Tsakhkadzor.
