Armenian Grandmaster Levon Aronian gained a victory over Alexei Shirov (Spain) in the third round of “Grand Slam” chess tournament in Bilbao, 2009. The leader of the tournament Alexander Grischuk was defeated by Sergey Kariakin (Russia).
After three rounds the standings are as follows: Levon Aronian & Alexander Grischuk-6 points each, Sergey Karjakin -4, Alexei Shirov-1, “Armsport. am” reports.
