People’s Party of Armenia will do its utmost for progress to be registered in the country, chairman Stepan Demirchyan said at the 7th congress of the party.

He noted that negative consequences caused by rigged elections can be neutralized only by means of fair elections. In his speech Demirchyan touched upon all previous elections stressing they were rigged, whereas falsification of the last presidential elections led to the March 1 events. “The March 1 events were definitely organized by the authorities who used force against peaceful protestors in order to retrain power,” he said, adding that the March 1 events would not occur if there was no terror act in the Armenian parliament on October 27.

On December 4, seventh congress of the People’s Party of Armenia takes place in the governmental building. First President of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan and leaders of the parties of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) are participating. The Heritage party members Armen Martirosyan and Stepan Safaryan are present as well.
