The issue concerning Armenian-Turkish border remains unchanged, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said in an interview with the Aksam newspaper. “No news on the issue,” he said.

On October 10, 2009 Armenian and Turkish FMs, Edward Nalbandian and Ahmet Davutoglu, signed an accord to normalize bilateral relations.     

The protocols have to be approved by two countries’ parliaments. Turkey started protracting the process, in particular linking the Armenian-Turkish reconciliation and Karabakh conflict settlement. This April Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan suspended ratification of the protocols in parliament.

The Armenian-Turkish border was closed in 1993 on official Ankara’s initiative.
