Renowned Istanbul Armenian writer Yervand Kobelyan passed away in the Armenian Surb Prkich (Holy Savior) hospital in Istanbul.
He was born in Istanbul in 1923 and got education in Tadevosyan school. The first book of his poems was published in 1948. Kobelyan worked for several newspapers, including the Armenian Marmara, Zhamank and Agos newspapers published in Turkey. One of his books was translated into Turkish.
