Newly appointed Lithuanian Special Representative for Protracted Conflicts during country’s chairmanship in OSCE Giedrius Cekuolis will visit the South Caucasus in late February.

He will visit Yerevan and Baku, the details are still being worked out, Trend reported referring to Lithuania’s permanent mission to the OSCE.

As NEWS.am reported earlier, in December Cekuolis stated that OSCE chairing state Lithuania is unlikely to provoke a revolution in settling any of the protracted conflicts, but it will do its best to get good results.

The OSCE is an organization with progress measured in “millimeters”.  However, each millimeter is “as good as gold.” He said Lithuania is determined to follow this course and do its best.

Kazakhstan chairs the OSCE in 2010, and Lithuania will chair the Organization in 2011. Ireland will take over chairmanship in 2012 to be replaced by Ukraine in 2013.
