US President Barack Obama had a phone conversation with his Turkish counterpart on July 5, 2009.

According to the White House, the two leaders discussed the situation in Caucasus. In particular, President of Turkey informed his counterpart of the current relations with Armenia. The presidents also mentioned OSCE Minsk Group involvement in settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. President Gul thanked Obama for his recent speech delivered in Cairo on US ties with the Muslim world, the White House said.
