Azerbaijan will intensify its activities within international agencies, but it will not resort to military hostilities, NKR Foreign Minister Arman Melikyan told the reporters on January 14.

However, this year geopolitical processes and decisions are expected, which will affect on the ways and terms of Karabakh conflict resolution, Melikyan said.

Referring to the impeding meeting of Armenian, Azerbaijani and Russian Foreign Ministers on January, Melikyan said the meeting will be held in a retrained manner and call the conflicting parties to refrain from warlike statements. “However, Azerbaijan is unpredictable and may display a radical position at the meeting,” Melikyan noted.

In conclusion, Melikyan said the two Armenian sides have not yet developed a common policy and approaches. “It is quite a different story if Nagorno-Karabakh had developed a political line for itself and the Foreign Ministry followed it. However, there is no single development program in Armenia either. Moreover, Armenia got bogged down in the mediation of the OSCE pseudomission,” Melikyan noted.
