The European Union’s position on the Nagorno-Karabakh is reflected in a statement by Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council. According to the statement, the European Union (EU) is supportive of the OSCE Minsk Group’s efforts to settle the conflict, RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian told a news conference, commenting on Azeri media reports that, during his visit to Baku, José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission, stated support of the territorial integrity principles.

“One should know about Mr. Barroso’s position from the EU official website, rather than from Azeri mass media,” Minister Nalbandian said. He stressed that the EU’s position on Nagorno-Karabakh is in line with that of the Armenian side.
