The Armenian Government implemented the “Young family - affordable housing” program. The program was initiated by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs. In 2010, 223 loans for 1.7 million drams (about $ 4.7 million) were granted. Thus, each family was granted $ 21 thousand loan on average. To subsidize the interest the government has allocated 34.7 million drams ($ 6.4 million).

The government subsidized the rate of 2% in Yerevan, and 4% in the regions. The program is expected to allocate 300 loans in 2011.
