There are lots of issues to be discussed by Armenian and Georgian Presidents, Georgian expert Soso Tsintsadze stated in an interview with NEWS.am, commenting on Saakashvili’s forthcoming visit to Armenia.

According to him, issues on bilateral political cooperation will be a focal point of the talks. "The Presidents will also concentrate on issues providing assistance in resolving various problems, as both Armenia and Georgia are in need of mutual support,” the expert noted.

Tsintsadze stressed that the sale of the Georgian section of Russia-Armenia gas pipeline will also be touched upon during the meeting. "It becomes clear from Armenian media publications Armenia is concerned over the possible purchase of gas main by Azerbaijan. However, this option is simply unrealistic, as under Georgian legislation, Georgia can sell only 25% shares of the gas pipeline,” the expert emphasized. According to him, Georgia in the person of Saakashvili, may become a factor that would create a balance between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“There are also many other urgent issues, particularly the status of Armenian churches in Georgia, the Georgian side’s claims on several brands like “khachapuri,” and “saperavi”. However, such claims do no honor to two neighbors. On the contrary, Armenia and Georgia should find areas of common interest, as we live in a complicated region, in which Russia is trying to dictate its interest,” he said.

During his visit, Saakashvili will try to draw conclusions which will be of interest of the two states. “The Georgian President will visit Armenia for this purpose. We do not doubt the Armenian people’s hospitality. We hope after Saakshvili’s visit the Armenian mass media’s unfriendly attitude towards Georgia will be changed,” the expert concluded.

As NEWS.am reported previously, Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili will pay a 2-day official visit to Armenia. No information is available on the agenda of Sargsyan-Saakashvili meeting.
