British singer Boy George returned an icon dating back to 18th century to Cyprus. He bought it in London 26 years ago. The icon was stolen from a church in the north of the island, Cyprus Orthodox Christian Church said.

A stranger saw the icon in singer’s house watching a Dutch TV show, Nouvelles d`Arménie reported.

The singer agreed to return the icon, saying it should be returned to a place from where it was stolen, the statement of church says. He is hopeful others will follow his lead.
