YEREVAN. – We already have irregularities, but the voting day will show whether or not they will turn into irregularities that will affect the outcome of the elections.

Zaruhi Postanjyan, chairperson of Armenia’s Yerkir Tsirani (Apricot Country) Party and the latter’s mayoral candidate for capital city Yerevan, stated the above-said at Monday’s press conference to kick off her political force’s campaign for the forthcoming snap election for the Yerevan Council of Elders.

She noted that even though pre-election irregularities could be prevented in Armenia, to do that one needs to be a bearer of the culture of freedom.

Also, Postanjyan expressed concern that a “regression” has been recorded in the country, in terms of organizing the election process, since this time video cameras will not be installed at the election precincts on voting day.

Also, Yerkir Tsirani’s mayoral candidate noted that although there are fairly widespread tools to prevent crimes, prevention depends on respective political will.
