Many Libyan diplomats abroad resigned in protest against Muammar Gaddafi’s government, Al Jazeera reported. Among them are Libya’s diplomats in the US, the United Nations, the Arab League, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, India and Bangladesh. They do not want to support violence against Libyans used by the authorities.
Riots in Libya are ongoing from February 15. Protesters are demanding the overthrow of the Muammar Gaddafi, who runs the country for over 40 years. In a televised statement late on Monday Libya’s President Muammar Gaddafi said he had not fled the country and is presently in Tripoli.
