U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Marie Yovanovitch held a solemn reception on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Peace Corps.
The Peace Corps Armenia office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that the office staff, minister and heads of international partner agencies attended the reception.
The reception highlighted the personal contribution of 35th President of the United States John Kennedy, the Peace Corps founder.
The Peace Corps office in Armenia was opened in 1992. About 700 volunteers have worked in the country since.
