The common approaches of Russia and Turkey are undesirable for Armenia, Head of Republican parliamentary group Galust Sahakyan told reporters on March 17.

“Russia and Turkey are major powers. Certainly, Russia’s rapprochement with Turkey is hard for us. It does not meet our national interests, as Russia is our strategic partner. However, it does not mean Russia violates international norms,” he noted.

The MP also stressed Armenia initiated the normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations and wishes the accords to be ratified and relations to be normalized with Turkey. “Diplomatic and political relations should not be confused,” the MP emphasized.
