Philip H. Gordon, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs expressed a wish to see Serzh Sargsyan visit Turkey for Oct. 14 qualifier match between Turkey and Armenia.

According to Turkish Milliyet daily, Gordon informed the journalists of the meeting details between the U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton with Armenian and Turkish Foreign Ministers. “We are aware, that Armenian President is invited to the return match. It would be a good sign and further evidence of the two countries coming together if he went to the football match,” Gordon stated.
