Acting Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri announced the removal of his candidacy for the post of head of the new cabinet and called on President Michel Aoun to appoint parliamentary consultations to determine a suitable candidate for the formation of a new government in Lebanon, RIA Novosti reported.

Prime Minister Saad Hariri announced his resignation on October 29 amid massive anti-government rallies across the country. Peaceful demonstrations began on October 17 and continue for over forty days, despite the resignation of the government.
