The owner of “Van Times” and “Sehrivan“ newspapers Aziz Aykac died at a local hospital in Ankara.
“The owner of Van Times played an important role in the Armenian-Turkish friendship, holding an action “Opening the doors of our homes to Armenians” on the eve of opening of Surb Khach” Holy Cross on Akhtamar Island in Van,” Union of Journalists of Van said in a condolence letter.
A few days before the liturgy at the Surb Khach Church “Van Times” published its first Armenian issue.
