YEREVAN. - Speaker of Armenian parliament Hovik Abrahamyan does not intend to participate in the Fourth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries, to be held in Istanbul on May 9-13.
Hovik Abarahamyan received an invitation to take part in UN conference along with Armenian President, the head of PR department of Armenian parliament Gohar Poghosyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am. However, he will not attend the conference.
“Abrahamyan considers his participation in the conference inadvisable,” she stressed.
As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, Spokesman for Armenian Presidential Armen Arzumanyan confirmed the information that the Armenian leader was invited to take part in the Fourth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries in Istanbul. According to Arzumanyan, President Sargsyan’s participation in the conference is being discussed with the relevant UN agencies.
“The Armenian President is not scheduled to hold any bilateral meetings with Turkish leaders in the near future,” he added.
