“Employment of Turkish capital in Armenian enterprises is unacceptable,” Artsvik Minasyan, MP of ARF Dashnaktsutyun and Deputy Chair of Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, told journalists October 1. He presented ARFD document listing the risks that may emerge after Armenia-Turkey Protocols’ signing.
Minasyan maintains that Turkish investments should be bewared: “Surely, Armenian Constitution bans foreigners to acquire real estate in Armenia, however it does not prohibit foreign companies to do so, which is hazardous.”
Vardan Ayvazyan, Chairman of RA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, said: “I admit there is a danger and the outlooks are far not bright; however, the chance to benefit should not be missed.” He deems, distrust towards Turks is natural, but on the other hand “the esteemed trade turnover of U.S. $130m with wealthy neighbor is too good to be lost.”
