During discussions on the legislative initiative targeted at the implementation of constitutional reforms held in the National Assembly, the deputies of the ruling My Step Alliance were intolerant and disrespectful towards pluralism and differing ideological approaches and were inciting hatred towards dissent.

This is what deputy of the Bright Armenia Party Ani Samsonyan said during the hour of statements in parliament today. She stated that, in essence, at the end of his speech in parliament, the Prime Minister supported the deputies of the ruling alliance by dividing the society into “blacks” and “whites”, traitors of the state once again.

All this, as well as the fact that the incumbent authorities are actually generating hatred in society instead of fighting against hatred, have compelled her and another deputy of the Bright Armenia faction, Anna Kostanyan to not participate in the sessions of the task force fighting against incitement to and propaganda of hatred that has been set up in the National Assembly. “With this, we are expressing lack of confidence and believe we have nothing to do in the demonstrative and meaningless struggle,” Samsonyan concluded.
