“Armenia-Turkey normalization process was Serzh Sargsyan’s initiative, when he invited Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to watch Armenia-Turkey football match,” RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan stated at the Oct. 1 parliamentary discussion on “Initialed Protocols and Armenia-Turkey reconciliation process”.

Asked who drafted the Protocols, Nalbandyan replied, that for some reason many have skepticism over Armenia’s elaboration of such document. After the Turkish side agreed to establish relations without preconditions-not including Karabakh conflict and Genocide negation issues, Armenia presented its proposals to Turkey, Nalbandyan outlined.
