·       Today, March 5, is the birthday of National Hero of Armenia, Hero of Artsakh and statesman, the late Vazgen Sargsyan.

According to tradition, today the top leadership and the senior officer staff of the army of Armenia visited the Yerablur military pantheon in Yerevan.

Later, Armenia’s PM Nikol Pashinyan visited the Yerkrapah Volunteers’ Union on the occasion of the 61st birthday.

·       The criminal case against the Constitutional Court president Hrayr Tovmasyan and Norayr Panosyan, former Head of the Legality Oversight Inspectorate of the Ministry of Justice and whose wedding best man was Tovmasyan, has been sent to the Prosecutor's Office of Armenia, along with the respective indictment, said Marina Ohanjanyan, Spokesperson for the Special Investigation Service.

Tovmasyan and Panosyan are charged with abuse of official power, which negligently caused grave consequences.

·       Georgia and Armenia are facilitating the movement of their citizens in both directions, and citizens can pay visits with their ID cards, Pashinyan said while providing details of his visit to Georgia.

Thus, the governments of Armenia and Georgia have signed a Memorandum of Intent to facilitate the movement of the two countries’ citizens.

According to Armenian MFA spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan, the public will be properly notified in different stages of conclusion and entry into force of the agreement, according to the legislation.

·       Forward for FC Roma and the Armenian national football team Henrikh Mkhitaryan has welcomed his baby boy, Roma’s press service reported.

Mkhitaryan’s son was born on March 4 and has been named after Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s father, Hamlet Mkhitaryan.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Betty Vardanyan (daughter of one of the owners of Grand Holding Mikayel Vardanyan) got married in June 2019.

·       The coronavirus death toll has already reached 3,308. It infected 96,621 others, whereas 53,952 patients have recovered and are discharged from hospitals.

China is in the first place with the number of morbidity and mortality from the coronavirus: 80,430 infections and 3,013 deaths. According to the latest reports, there are 5,766 infections and 35 deaths in South Korea, 3,089 cases of infection and 107 deaths in Italy, and 2,922 cases of infection and 92 deaths in Iran.

Meanwhile, Armenian health minister Arsen Torosyan, in his turn, noted that Armenia has tested 162 people for coronavirus. The minister noted the results of all tests were negative, except for the one already known case. The patient is now hospitalized, has no complaints and some symptoms. Specialists also re-examined his wife, the results of the tests were negative.

According to the health minister, citizens who were in contact with the patient with coronavirus are still isolated in Tsaghkadzor. They are expected to return home on March 14, if the results of the tests are negative.
