Nicola Zingaretti, the leader of Italy’s ruling coalition member Democratic Party and the governor of Lazio region, announced Saturday that the result of his coronavirus test was positive, TASS reports.

"The doctors told me I had COVID-19," he said on Twitter. The politician added, however, that he feels fine, but he will have to spend the next few days at home.

According to the latest data, the number of people in Italy who are infected with the novel coronavirus has reached 4,636, of whom 197 have died, whereas more than 500 have recovered.
