Bulgaria has recorded the first case of death from coronavirus. The deceased is a 66-year-old woman, who was checked into a hospital with serious respiratory insufficiency, reports TASS.

The woman’s 77-year-old husband is still in critical condition and is under treatment.

“Based on the results of the test, we can confirm that the patient is infected with coronavirus. Doctors are fighting for the husband’s life since his condition is getting worse,” head of the operational headquarters for the fight against the spread of coronavirus adjunct to the Bulgarian government Ventsislav Mutafchiysky said, adding that the seventh case of coronavirus infection was recorded today.
