During a conversation with reporters today, Co-Chair of the Armenian-Belarusian Intergovernmental Commission, Minister of Forest Economy of Belarus Vitaly Drozha said Belarus is ready to supply a large number of seedlings for the plan to plant 10,000,000 trees in Armenia.

He also said there is a need for further discussion on the issue. “In Belarus, forest make up 40% of the country’s territory, while in Armenia they make up only 11% of the territory, and Belarus is ready to support implementation of the project to double these figures by 2050. Belarus has a good practice in forest economy management, starting from the growth of seedlings and ending with administration and logging through European technologies,” Drozha stated.

Armenia plans to plant 10,000,000 trees.
