Facebook, Google, YouTube, Microsoft, LinkedIn, Reddit, and Twitter said in a joint statement that they are working to counter coronavirus misinformation, Business Insider reported.
"We're helping millions of people stay connected while also jointly combating fraud and misinformation about the virus, elevating authoritative content on our platforms, and sharing critical updates in coordination with government healthcare agencies around the world," the statement read. "We invite other companies to join us as we work to keep our communities healthy and safe.”
There are over 4.6 thousand confirmed cases of coronavirus in the US. The death toll has reached 85.
The WHO said on Monday 11 that coronavirus has now become a pandemic.
According to the latest WHO data, over 167 thousand people have already been infected in the world, and the death toll has reached over 6.6 thousand.
