Turkish Ambassador to U.S. Namik Tan said there is no initiative to include a resolution on Armenian Genocide in the congressional agenda.

However, it does not mean the issue was removed form the agenda, he added. Tan stressed that the Armenian community of U.S. is pressing President Obama to recognize the Genocide.

The Turkish diplomat claimed he does not believe that President Obama will utter word “genocide”, Turkish TGRT television reports.

In case the word is pronounced, it will affect seriously U.S.-Turkey ties, as well as normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations.
