YEREVAN. - Cynical statements of the Turkish authorities regarding relations with Armenia once again prove that Turkish ruling elite’s way of thinking does not differ from that of Ottoman leadership, said Armenian MP Naira Zohrabyan.

Speaking at an international conference on Armenian-Turkish relations held in Yerevan, she stressed that sooner or later Turkey will recognize the Armenian Genocide as Turkish society has become more tolerant towards discussing the Armenian issue. Zohrabyan noted that normalization process is on international political agenda as well.

Commenting on Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent’s questions how Armenia intends to push for indemnity from Turkey if even Cyprus, an EU member, failed to do it, Zohrabyan said that "Armenia is definitely a small country" and cannot address the world powers as an equal.

"However, sooner or later Turkey, which strives for EU membership, will be urged to bring its actions in compliance with the European standards,” she added.
