One hundred and seventy-two countries have joined the international COVAX mechanism, which aims to provide all countries with COVID-19 vaccines when available, on an equitable basis, TASS reported referring to the Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

He referred to the letter he sent to all countries last week asking them to join the partnership to accelerate the development of COVID-19 drugs. According to him, now there are nine vaccines in the portfolio.
