American tech companies have asked the Federal Communications Commission to reject the administration's petition to regulate social media in the country.

According to him, Facebook, Amazon, Twitte, and Google sent an appeal to the FCC and noted that the demand of US President Donald Trump to regulate the activities of social networks is not supported by anything for the law, is based on personal convictions and can introduce misleading. The introduction of new rules for monitoring social media activities could deprive them of legal protection against fraudulent schemes, crooks and other types of inappropriate content, Reuters reported.

Trump in May this year signed an executive order regulating the activities of social networks in the country. According to the president, before such a decree, social networks could do whatever they wanted.
