President of Lebanon Michel Aoun said fire at the port in Beirut may be an intentional act of sabotage or a result of technical failure, lack of knowledge or negligence, Lebanon’s MTV reported.

His remarks came during Thursday's session of the Higher Defense Council.

According to him, in any case, the cause must be clarified as soon as possible, and the guilty need to be brought to justice. “The mistakes for such fires are no longer permissible, especially after the disaster caused by the first fire,” he said, referring to the August 4 fire and explosion in Beirut that took the lives of at least 190 citizens.
