A Shanghai court on Monday sentenced a 37-year-old blogger to four years in prison.

The journalist reported from Wuhan during the COVID-19 outbreak, TASS reported referring to South China Morning Post.

The activist has been in custody since mid-May. She was accused of disseminating false information, provoking quarrels and troubles.

According to the newspaper, Zhang refused to admit her guilt and went on a hunger strike. It is not clear yet whether she will appeal.
