YEREVAN. - To the credit of the Armenian National Congress (ANC), we should say it achieved its goal and exerted pressure by the international organizations on Armenia, Head of ARFD parliamentary group Vahan Hovhannisyan told a press conference on Monday.

Meanwhile, the MP noted that the international community exerts pressure on Armenia not in terms of democracy, as the ANC is seeking to present, but rather on issues of national importance, such as Karabakh conflict resolution and Armenia-Turkey reconciliation.

“The world community is not interested in democratic issues, it has its own priorities in the region,” the ARFD MP stressed, bringing neighboring Georgia as an example.

According to him, unidentified corpses have been recovered from Kura River, which are believed to be Georgian oppositionists.

“In all probability these are people killed during the recent clashes between Georgian authorities and opposition.  Here is Georgian democracy. However, the international organizations failed to give response to this fact, as they have their own interests,” Hovhannisyan concluded.
