Today, on Homeland Defender’s Day, Minister of Internal Affairs of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Karen Sargsyan, accompanied by Head of the State Service for Emergency Situations Mekhak Arzumanyan and other representatives of the Service, visited the families of rescuers Davit Dolukhanyan, Harutyun Atajanyan and Hovik Aghajanyan who died while fulfilling their professional duties during the war, and The visit to Arayik Hakobyan’s relatives was postponed since they were not found in Artsakh, as reported the State Service for Emergency Situations.

Once again, Sargsyan expressed condolences to the heroes’ relatives and stated that the social issues and problems with living conditions of the families of the deceased rescuers will be in the government’s focus.

Four rescuers of the State Service for Emergency Situations died during the hostilities in Artsakh and were posthumously awarded the Medal for Courage by the President of Artsakh, and Hovik Aghajanyan was posthumously awarded the Medal for Combat Service.

By the decree of Karen Sargsyan, Aghajanyan was also posthumously awarded the Cross of Glory-Noy Commemorative Medal.
