YEREVAN. – Monte (Avo) Melkonyan was one of the best leaders, and due to his charisma he unified all commanders protecting Nagorno Karabakh against Azerbaijan, General Arkadi Ter-Tadevosyan (Commandos) told at press conference on Saturday.

 “Due to his qualifications of a commander, relations with soldiers, devotion to his homeland, he could not only protect the Armenian land but also to liberate it,” told Ter-Tadevosyan.

Lieutenant Colonel of the Armed Forces of Nagorno Karabakh, Monte Melkonyan, one of the brightest, talented and experienced commanders, died in 1993.
