PreferredYEREVAN. – At Wednesday’s court session on the criminal case against Armenia’s ex-MP Levon Sargsyan and Suren Ghazaryan, the prosecution published the indictment against them.
When the court asked whether he pleads guilty to the accusation, Sargsyan said, “no.”
The court asked the same question to the other defendant, Ghazaryan, and he, too, responded that he does not plead guilty.
The court decided to examine the evidence in this criminal case, to publish the documents in the case, to question Tigran Khachatryan—a witness in the case, as well as the injured parties and, lastly, the defendants.
The court adjourned, and the next court session was set for March 16.
At the next hearing, the court will publicize the evidence in this criminal case.
Solely Levon Sargsyan is under arrest along the lines of this case.
Sargsyan is accused of ordering the robbery of the house of the former head of the State Customs Committee, Armen Avetisyan, about 12 years ago.
A red notice was issued for Levon Sargsyan in October 2018.
And in November 2019, he was found in Moscow and extradited to Armenia.
