YEREVAN. – I do not intend to resign. I consider the [parliament majority] My Step faction’s demeanor towards me aggressive, at the very least. Ruben Vardazaryan, Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) of Armenia, on Wednesday told this to reporters in the National Assembly (NA), referring to the "attack" organized against him by My Step, yesterday and today, at the NA Sessions’ Hall.

Vardazaryan said he does not consider that he has left Armenia’s judicial system in a state of abandonment, and that is why the ruling My Step bloc demands an account.

Also, the reporters asked the SJC chairman to comment—as a lawyer—on the recent events surrounding the General Staff of the Armed Forces, PM Nikol Pashinyan, and President Armen Sarkissian. Ruben Vardazaryan, however, did not comment, arguing that he could not answer political questions. "[But] as a citizen of the Republic of Armenia, I can only say clearly that any crisis can be resolved by sitting around a roundtable and negotiating," he added.
