SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk's fortune jumped immediately by $ 25 billion in a day - this is a record increase in one day, according to data from the  Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI).

Musk is now worth $ 174 billion, according to BBI. He ranks second after Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, whose net worth is $ 180 billion. Over the past day, Bezos's fortune has grown by $ 5.95 billion.

In early January, Musk came out on top in the BBI list of the richest people in the world, beating Bezos, but in February he returned to second place.

According to Forbes Real-Time, Musk's fortune grew by $ 22.6 billion per day to $ 166.2 billion, Bezos - by 5.9 billion, to $ 179.9 billion.
