National Democratic Unity Party member Lyudvig Khachatryan left the party these days. In Oct.13 interview with the journalist he reasoned his resignation by “various approaches to the current complicated political situation in Armenia. According to Khachatryan, Armenia-Turkey relations are not an easy issue to put up with.

”I am against Armenia-Turkey relations and border opening, which is why I resigned from the party," NDU party former member stated outlining he is one of the party founders and a friend of Vazgen Manukyan.

“Vazgen Manukyan and I discussed a number of issues, however the time comes when one has a right to make own decision. Vazgen Manukyan is one of the most unique persons I ever knew, but we are just at odds on certain affairs. This controversy will not affect our relations though,” he concluded.

Vazgen Manukyan, the chairman of National Democratic Unity party was recently appointed to the Public Council President post and presently supports Armenia-Turkey Protocols.
