US Secretary of State Antony Blinken says the “hundreds” of US sanctions against Iran will remain in effect, even if Washington revisits Iran’s nuclear deal.

President Joe Biden’s administration is indirectly negotiating with Iran over the possible return to the 2015 nuclear deal which is officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), AFP reports.

In case of return to the JCPOA, the Biden administration is ready to put an end to the extreme measures set by Trump, including the attempts to suspend all exports of Iranian oil. Iran insists on lifting all sanctions, but according to the Biden administration, some of them will remain.
