YEREVAN. - Time for changing the ruling leadership will ripen when 700 thousand people gather in Liberty Square. In this case opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) will achieve the change of power in 24 hours, said the ANC activist, chief editor of Haykakan Zhamanak (Armenian Time) newspaper Nikol Pashinyan at meeting with Shirak region ANC members on Tuesday.
Initially, he touched upon the dialogue between authorities and ANC. Authorities’ fulfillment of the three demands gave reason to believe that Armenian authorities are powerless and they will give way without too much turmoil and stress. The most convenient option was the dialogue, proposed by the authorities, which ANC envisages as change of power through early presidential and parliamentary elections.
"At the moment the Armenian authorities face a choice - to start a dialogue or not, but in both cases they lose, because to begin a dialogue means to fulfill the demands of the ANC, to refuse it implies a new stage of struggle in Armenia. Both do not suite the government," said Pashinyan.
